Overview

Uncover the soul of Lebanon on this immersive 6-night journey through ancient ruins, sacred landscapes, coastal towns, and high mountain passes. This tour weaves together millennia of history, diverse cultures, and stunning natural beauty—all within a land no larger than a county, yet layered like a library of countless civilizations.

Begin in Beirut, a city reborn from the ashes, where Mediterranean light reflects off French façades and modern art galleries. Wander among the Roman columns of Baalbek, sip fine wines in the sun-drenched vineyards of the Bekaa Valley, and glide by cable car to the spiritual sanctuary of Harissa, gazing out over Jounieh Bay. Explore the legendary cities of Byblos and Tripoli, where souks still echo with the footsteps of Phoenicians and Crusaders. Then, rise into the cool air of North Lebanon, where the timeless Cedars of God whisper stories across the dramatic cliffs and monasteries carved into the rock of the Qadisha Valley.

Throughout the journey, you will stay in carefully selected, character-rich hotels and travel in a small, intimate group — allowing for meaningful encounters, local flavors, and moments of quiet reflection in Lebanon's most enchanting corners.

Highlights:

  • Marvel at Baalbek's colossal Roman temples, among the best-preserved ruins in the ancient world.
  • Explore the living history of Byblos, Tripoli, and the Qadisha Valley — all UNESCO World Heritage sites.
  • Savor the exquisite flavors of Lebanon with a wine tasting experience at the country's oldest winery and fresh coastal cuisine.
  • Travel with a small, intimate group and enjoy carefully curated boutique accommodations that reflect the authentic spirit of Lebanon.

A smooth transfer takes you into the beating heart of Lebanon — the dynamic and layered capital, Beirut. As you settle into your comfortable hotel, the rest of the day is yours to unwind, explore the city at your own pace, or simply soak in the sea breeze from a café on the Corniche. The adventure begins gently, leaving space for rest, curiosity, and first impressions of this unforgettable land.

Travel Details: Expected travel distance: ~10 km/ Time: ~0.5 h; Overnight stay at a hotel in Beirut (- / – / –)

Day 2: Temples, Traders & Terroir – Baalbek, Anjar & Château Ksara

After breakfast, you journey eastward across the Mount Lebanon range into the fertile expanse of the Bekaa Valley. Your first stop is the legendary city of Baalbek, known as the “City of the Sun”, where colossal Roman temples rise majestically against a backdrop of golden hills. Stand in awe beneath the towering columns of the Temple of Jupiter, and explore the ornate Temple of Bacchus, one of the best-preserved in the ancient world. Next, explore a very different layer of history at Anjar, an 8th-century Umayyad city where Islamic architecture and Roman planning merge in elegant colonnades, arched gates, and intricate mosaic pavements — a captivating remnant of the short-lived Umayyad empire.

The day's final delight is a visit to Château Ksara, Lebanon's oldest winery. Hidden beneath the vineyards are Roman-era tunnels where wine still ages to perfection. Here, you’ll taste some of Lebanon's finest vintages and hear stories of winemaking that have been passed down through the centuries.

After a day filled with rich history and flavor, return to your hotel in Beirut for a well-earned rest.

Highlights of the Day:

  • Explore the monumental Roman temples in Baalbek, one of the world’s most iconic archaeological sites.
  • Step into the elegance of the Umayyad era at Anjar, a crossroads of empires and cultures.
  • Sip history and exquisite wines at Château Ksara, Lebanon's renowned vineyard and cellar.

Travel Details: Expected travel distance: ~170 km/ Time: ~7 h total (including transfers and visits) Overnight stay at a hotel in Beirut (B / – / –)

Day 3: From Sacred Heights to Seaside Charms – Harissa, Byblos & Batroun

After breakfast, your journey follows Lebanon’s stunning coastline, starting with a spiritual ascent to the Our Lady of Lebanon shrine in Harissa. Reached by a scenic cable car ride that glides above lush pine forests and charming rooftops, this revered pilgrimage site provides stunning views of Jounieh Bay and the glistening Mediterranean—a place where faith meets landscape.

Descending from the hills, you continue north to Byblos (Jbeil), one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Here, layers of history unfold before you—from Neolithic settlements and Phoenician temples to Crusader castles and Roman streets. Wander its atmospheric old souk, linger at the picturesque harbor, and feel the pulse of a town that has seen empires rise and fall.

Your final stop is Batroun, a sun-kissed coastal gem known for its laid-back spirit and vibrant soul. Stroll along the ancient Phoenician sea wall, explore the artisan shops in the cobbled souk, or sip lemonade at one of the breezy cafés that line the shore.

In the late afternoon, you’ll settle into your hotel in Byblos, embraced by the scent of the sea and the echoes of centuries.

Highlights of the Day:

  • Ascend to the mountaintop shrine of Harissa for breathtaking panoramic views and a sense of spiritual serenity.
  • Uncover 7,000 years of history in Byblos—a city where every stone tells a story.
  • Experience the coastal soul of Batroun, with its ancient seawall and bohemian charm.

Travel Details: Expected travel distance: ~60 km/ Time: ~6 h total (including visits and transfers); Overnight stay at a hotel in Byblos (B / – / –)

Day 4: Northern Echoes – The Soul of Tripoli & Batroun’s Breezy Shores

Today, our journey begins toward Tripoli, Lebanon’s captivating northern capital—a city where Mamluk minarets pierce the skyline, the scent of cardamom fills the air, and history lingers in every alley. Start your discovery in the city’s Old Souks, a vibrant maze of color and craftsmanship where time seems to slow. From copper workshops and traditional hammams to sweet shops brimming with knafeh and ma’amoul, Tripoli offers an authentic taste of old-world Levantine life.

Ascend to the Citadel of Raymond de Saint-Gilles, an imposing Crusader fortress that looms protectively over the city. The views from here stretch from the rugged mountains to the turquoise coastline — a reminder of Tripoli’s strategic and storied past.

Later, head to Al-Mina, Tripoli’s coastal district, where pastel-colored houses, Ottoman relics, and a breezy atmosphere invite a relaxed stroll along the port.

In the afternoon, you return to Batroun to experience its tranquil atmosphere in the daylight and to spend more time exploring the Phoenician sea wall, charming cafés, and the shops of local artisans before heading back to your hotel in Byblos.

Highlights of the Day:

  • Explore the timeless souks of Tripoli, vibrant with tradition, rich aromas, and exquisite craftsmanship.
  • Stand atop Crusader history at the Citadel of Raymond de Saint-Gilles.
  • Experience the coastal charm of Batroun, featuring its historic seawall and café-lined streets.

Day 5: In the Land of Saints and Cedars – Qadisha Valley, Bcharre & Cedars of God

After breakfast, embark on a journey into the dramatic mountains of North Lebanon, where cliffs plunge into the sacred Qadisha Valley—a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has sheltered monks and mystics for over a millennium. Along the way, stop in Bcharre to visit the Gibran Museum, home to the writings, paintings, and personal legacy of Lebanon’s great poet and philosopher.

Continue to the ancient Cedars of God, where majestic trees—some over a thousand years old—stand as symbols of Lebanon’s resilience. A tranquil walk among their towering trunks offers a moment of peace and reverence.

Day 6: Capitals of Culture – Beirut, Beiteddine & Deir el Qamar

Begin your final journey to explore the many faces of Beirut. Start with a drive along the scenic Corniche al-Manara, where the Mediterranean shimmers beside modern towers and palm-lined promenades. Dive into the city’s past and present in Downtown Beirut, from the iconic Martyr’s Square to the stylish Beirut Souks, where ancient streets have become a modern crossroads of fashion, food, and craftsmanship.

In the afternoon, leave the coast behind and ascend into the Chouf Mountains. There, you’ll discover the grand Beiteddine Palace, a 19th-century masterpiece of Ottoman-Lebanese architecture, featuring lavish courtyards and intricate mosaics.
